The programs used for writing and formatting on the computer
are called word processing programs.
There are many word processing programs developed by different companies that are used for this purpose on the computer . Word is
one of these programs . Word,
a very useful word processing program prepared by Microsoft to run under the Windows operating system
; It is an indispensable writing program used in almost every field. Word Program, which can be used in
daily correspondence, in the field of press, writing a thesis or book, has
very rich processes and functions;
It is an excellent word processing program. Can be done in a document with Word
all transactions are possible. It is
much easier to prepare a long document using Word than using a typewriter.
What Can Be Done with Word?
• Word program does many operations automatically. For example
, the contents of the written information, index, page numbers, footnote information and
many other operations can be prepared easily.
• Incorrectly written information can be corrected, new information can
be added or deleted. An area can be selected, the selected area can be deleted, copied and pasted to
create new copies
• Drawing, graphics and tables can be created
• Various fonts and fonts can be used in the text
• Various page views can be created
• Words can be corrected, synonyms can be found, words can be
changed in bulk
• Mail can be combined, envelopes and labels can be printed.

Get to Know Word Tabs Quick Access Toolbar: This toolbar, located in the upper left corner of the window, has Save, Undo and Undo buttons as standard. However, this toolbar can be customized according to the user's request. This in-process customization menu is opened and the buttons that need to be brought to the toolbar are marked and the ones that need to be removed are unchecked. 
Tabs: Word 2007 and Word 2010 versions, instead of drop-down menus in the drop-down list in the form of strips and tabs buttons hosts were reduced, leaving innovation in use. The tabs in Word are File, Home, Insert, Page Layout, References, Mailings, Review, View.
Hood:In the title section of the Word program, the name of the open document is written along with the name of the program. When the program is first opened, the Word document opens with the default name Document1. After recording from file operations, the name specified by the user takes its place in the header field. 
Window Buttons: Window buttons consist of three buttons that close the Word program, change the Screen size, and minimize it to the taskbar. Minimizes the Word window. Click the Word icon on the taskbar to bring up the window again. The Word window appears full screen with the maximize button. Returns the Word window to its previous size, appearing as a small window on the screen. Closes the Word window. If there are changes made to the document, it gives a warning for the save process.

Ribbons: In the Word 2010 version, the commands are grouped under tabs. Each of these parts is called a strip. Ribbons (Clipboard, Font, Paragraph, etc.) appear under the “Home” tab.

Buttons : In the Word 2010 version, commands are performed with buttons under tabs. For example, when the button is clicked, it prints the text in bold. Clicking again cancels the bold typing command.
Worksheet : It is the area where all kinds of work to be done in the Word word processing program take place. This area is limited by the margins seen on the rulers. 
Scroll Bars:  There are horizontal and vertical scroll bars in Word. If the screen is completely horizontal, the horizontal
scroll bar will not appear. By moving the vertical scroll bar up and down, the top and bottom of the worksheet andother worksheets can be viewed. Page Up / Page Down keys on the keyboard also perform the function of the vertical scroll bar. 
Status Bar:Status bar contains the number of pages and total number of pages, word count, spelling language, page views, page zoom level.
Page number : The first number in the “page 1/1” statement in the status bar shows the current page number, and the second
number shows the total number of pages.
Word Count : Shows the total number of words (words) in the study.
Spelling Language: Indicates the spelling language of the Word program. To change the writing language, the “Turkish” button is clicked and the writing language is selected from the menu that appears.
Page Views: The Word worksheet has five different view
options.
 Page Zoom Level: The adjustment bar is used to zoom in or out the view of the Word worksheet .

Page layout: It  is the section that is closest to the appearance of the document on paper, allows us to see how the contents of the document appear in the document, arranges the headers and footers, adjusts the margins, and works with drawings and objects.
 Full screen reading:  It is used to make text readable on the screen, especially in long written documents, without making changes to it, by changing the layout of the page and improving the font appearance.
 Web layout : It is the image format to be used in files saved as web pages. It allows us to switch to the web page view. Outline : 
 It allows to view the document as an outline and to see the outline tools. We can move, copy and rearrange text by seeing the structure of the document and dragging the headings.
Draft:  A document view command that allows the document to be viewed as a draft for quick editing on text. Certain elements such as headers and footers, page borders, and drawn autoshapes are not visible in this view.

 Zoom
It
serves to enlarge (zoom in) so that we can see the contents of the document view we are working on more closely, or to reduce (zoom out) to see it all. The part where we will do the operations related to zooming in and out is  done from  the Zoom  group under the View tab  .

Zoom: Opens the Zoom 
dialog that appears in theFigure,whichis used to select the zoom level of the document. Often times, the zoom control located in the lower right corner of the document can also be used to quickly zoom the document.
100%:  Used to zoom the document to 100% of normal size.
 One page:  Used to zoom the document so that one full page fits in the window.  Two pages : Used to zoom the document so that two pages fit in the window.  Page width:  Zoomsthe document so that thewidth of the page matches the width of the window.
 
 

 Ruler and Grid Lines We
use rulers to measure and align objects in a document, and gridlines to align objects. We can access the section where the operations related to ruler and guide lines will be made, from  the  Show/Hide  group on the View  tab .

If desired, horizontal and vertical rulers can be added or removed from the document. For the ruler to be displayed on the screen, the ruler option
must be checked in the selection box. The horizontal and vertical ruler must be unchecked so that it is not visible on the screen.
Gridlines: It is used to see if the gridlines are visible on the screen during the writing of the document. Gridlines are a
visual aid in aligning figures and text .

 How to Save a Word Document

To create a new blank document, select the blank and new  option under the templates heading,  mark the  Blank document  , click  the create button in the lower right part of the window, and create the document. A new blank document is created by pressing the CTRL+N(New) shortcut keys at the same time from the keyboard. .A new blank document is created by clicking ( ) after activating the new option from the enable ( ) button on the quick access toolbar on the title bar  .

 You can use the Save  and Save As commands to store your work  and  change the settings Microsoft Word uses to save your documents. For example, if the document is for your own use and  you do not intend to open it in an earlier version of Microsoft Word,  you can use the Save command. If you want to share your document with people who use software other than Microsoft Word 2010 or Microsoft Office Word 2007, or if you plan to open the document on another computer , you must choose how and where to save the document.
